Handmade felt is believed to be the oldest textile technique - dating to the Stone Age. Explore the possibilities of color, texture, and form with this medium, using only wool and hot water. Students will work with dyed wools, layering these to form felt "geodes", and then slicing these to create patterning for a flat felt. The flat felts can then be embellished with yarns, fleece curls, etc.
