Visual artists may submit a minimum of 10 slides, resume' and exhibition proposals throughout the year. Exhibitions are curated 2-3 years in advance and are published in December of each year. All materials should be submitted to:

The prospectus for this annual fine arts exhibition is released in January and the exhibition is held May-September.

Purchase Award: The work selected for the Best in Show Purchase Award will become part of the Arts Center's Permanent Collection. Any artist who will not accept the $1,200 award must submit a written statement to declare their work not eligible for Best in Show. This statement must be submitted at the time of entry. Works not for sale will be ineligible for this award.
Media: Open to all media except video and installations.
Eligibility: Open to all U.S. artists 18 years of age or older. Work must be original and executed within the past two years. Work must not have been previously exhibited at the Arts Center. Entry in this exhibit establishes an agreement on the part of the artist to all conditions listed in the prospectus.
Entry Fee: A non-refundable entry fee of $25 for up to four entries must accompany the work. Checks should be made payable to: City Parks and Recreation.
The Sculpture Salmagundi
The prospectus for this annual exhibition for indoor and outdoor sculpture is released in May and the exhibition is held September-January.
Location
The indoor exhibition will be held at 270 Gay Street. All outdoor works will be displayed on the grounds of the Imperial Centre for Arts and Sciences.
Awards
Nine outdoor artists will receive a $1000 honorarium. One Best in Show winner will receive a $1000 award. The indoor exhibition is by invitation only and no awards will be given.

Eligibility
Open to all U.S. artists 18 years or older. Work must be original and executed within the past two years. Work must not have been previously exhibited at the Arts Center.
Entry Fee
Each artist may submit slides of a maximum of three works. Up to three different views of each work may be submitted. There is no entry fee.
Handcrafted: a Juried Exhibition of Ceramics, Fiber, Glass, Metal and Wood
One of the Arts Center's most successful competitive exhibitions, HANDCRAFTED features a wide range of fine crafts. The prospectus for this annual exhibition is released in October and the exhibition is held January-May.

Eligibility
Artists are encouraged to enter traditional or non-traditional craft media. The exhibition is open, but not limited to, the following: ceramics, fiber, glass, metal, wood, paper, or any combination of any craft media. All work must have been completed in the past three years and not previously exhibited at the Rocky Mount Arts Center. Open to all US artists 18 years or older.
Entry Fee
Artists may submit up to four (4) works for a nonrefundable $25 fee payable to Rocky Mount City - Parks and Recreation. Payment must accompany slides or CD.
Method of Entry
Submit 35mm slides or 355dpi digital images on CD for preliminary judging. Up to four (4) pieces may be entered. Each art work may be represented by up to three (3) separate 35mm slides or digital images showing details or different views of the work.
ART CRITIQUES
Monthly critiques focus on constructive criticism of each participant's artwork. Sessions will afford a great opportunity to discuss new ideas and learn new methods. All media and levels of work are welcome. Participants may bring up to 4 works per session. Critiques are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month and are free and open to the public.
